Endowed with natural beauty and a unique landscape, it is located at the beginning of the western Pyrenees mountain range, on one of the first peaks encountered when leaving the border of Bidasoa.
Discover three different horizons where you can enjoy the natural landscape of Ibardin. First, reach the lake that is located a few kilometers from the city center Ibardin; the second offers a route marked by the history of the place that allows you to appreciate the cromlechs of the area, and the third gives the opportunity to approach the slopes of Mount Larrun defined by the locals as the balcony of the Basque coast. About 55min
Don't forget to do your shopping: groceries, wines, gifts, leather goods, etc.
Arnéguy and Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port
On your way to Arnéguy , don't forget to stop at St-Jean-Pied-de-Port, to stroll through the streets, buy spices from the world's harvests, buy hand-sewn espadrilles, admire the pottery, leave with some souvenirs. From the Saint-Jacques gate, you will follow in the footsteps of the old garrisons by reaching the citadel or by taking the patrol path. Next to the reception office, the Prison known as the Bishops' Prison offers an exhibition on the paths of Compostela in the Middle Ages before reaching, at the bottom of the street, the Notre-Dame-du-Bout-du-Pont church, the second most important Gothic building in the French Basque Country.
Above all, leave with one (or several) Chaumontais, a specialty composed of layers of almond biscuit and lightly vanilla buttercream. Each bite offers a perfect harmony of textures and flavors. Recommended by hosts
In the Arnéguy area you will find 2 Venta Peio centers. About 1 hour

Ainhoa and Dantxarinea
Located between the Nive Valley and the Navarrese border, Ainhoa is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. This 12th century bastide-street created to welcome pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela, combines the green of its hills with the white and red facades of its old houses. In the surrounding area, beautiful walks offer you the opportunity to discover the Hawthorn Chapel and the many streams and undergrowth.
A particularity is to be noted: in the Basque Country, generally the facades of the houses are oriented to the East to protect themselves from bad weather coming from the ocean. But as in Ainhoa, the village is built on the main street, all the houses on one side of the street have their facades to the West.
The commercial area of Dantxarinea , due to its border location, has become the region's reference commercial area, both for products and services. Here you will find, among other things, a multitude of items: food products, tobacco, fashion, gas stations, wines and liquors, butchers, fishmongers, bazaar, jewelry, technology...
Don't forget to fill up with gas!
Discovering the Landes and Basque coast: an ocean of freedom!
Hossegor , the European capital of surfing
Soustons , and its marine lake
Capbreton , the only port in Landes
Biarritz , its virgin rock and its aquarium
Anglet and the love room
When swimming, be careful of the dangerous rip currents. A baïne is a hole of water that forms in the sand of the coast with the action of the North-South coastal current, the wind and the swell. We recommend that you go to the marine lakes in Hossegor or Soustons, especially with children!
